How the China used car export process works

A clean export process makes buying from China feel less distant. The key is knowing which steps happen before payment, which steps happen after inspection, and which documents should be prepared before the unit reaches port.

Confirm the vehicle

Before deposit, buyers should confirm the exact unit, VIN or chassis reference where available, photos, mileage, location, and whether the vehicle is ready for export handling.

If a vehicle is still being sourced, the quotation should make that clear. A real stock quote and a sourcing estimate are not the same thing.

Inspect and approve

Inspection gives the buyer a practical view of exterior, interior, engine bay, tires, mileage, dashboard warnings, and visible repair concerns.

Once the buyer approves the unit, the team can coordinate balance payment, pickup, export document preparation, and shipment booking.

Handover and shipment

Depending on the trade term, the supplier may hand over at a China location, at port, or support export clearance.

A simple shared checklist can prevent confusion between sales, logistics, and the buyer's clearing agent.
